Aeroflot Tu-104B under tow at the Moscow’s Sheremetyevo-1 airport
Tupolev Tu-104 was a twinjet medium-range narrow-body
turbojet-powered Soviet airliner. It was the second to enter in regular
service, behind the British de Havilland Comet.
Like many other passenger aircraft designed in the Soviet Union in the
1950s, the Tu-104 was based on a military aircraft, in this case the
Tu-16 jet strategic bomber.
