(Cutch) shamshir, 19th century, Turkish/Persian style sword,
single-edged curved steel blade, tombak (gilded copper)(tombak) mounts,
red felt covered, metallic thread trim scabbard has an open-work floral
and foliage tombak chape and locket, zoomorphic tiger hilt forming the
hand guard rering up to bite a stylised antelope head. The grip is
engraved with scrolling leaves and flowers in a Cutch style.
