Seversky_P-35
A contemporary of the Hawker Hurricane and Messerschmitt Bf 109, the P-35 was the first single-seat fighter in United States Army Air Corps to feature all-metal construction, retractable landing gear, and an enclosed cockpit.

These Aircraft were purchased by Sweden, but were seized by the War Department
before being shipped to the Philippines shortly before WWII.
The J 9’s did a valuable
duty during the neutrality watch as successors to the obsolete J 8
Gloster Gladiator and saw service until the 1950’s.
