And now MiG-1. Officially called the “first Mikoyan and Gurevitch airplane”. Mikoyan and Gurevitch then combined their first letters of their names and it became MiG. Those were two engineers who worked on the plane.
It was designed by Polikarpov, and taken over by Mikoyan when Polikarpov fell from political favor.
