Italian volunteers went to fight against the Germans in France,
composing, under command of Peppino Garibaldi, nephew of Giuseppe, the
so-called Legion Garibaldina, Legion Etranger.
in may 1915, with the entrance of Italy in war the legion was dissolved
to allow the return of volunteers to the regio army.

That looks even better with dress uniforms that are obviously just fancier variants of the field ones, compared to nowadays where they look about as battle worthy as suits. The lack of color maybe be helping in that case though…
