Nelson has a SPECIFIC LOOK, a SPECIFIC VOICE, and a SPECIFIC DEMEANOR to play SPECIFIC ROLES. He was the stick up the ass Army colonel in The Killing Fields and the sadistic Captain Knauer in the original The Longest Yard before he was Coach. He’s well aware of how the studio system works, and was GODDAMN LUCKY that he got a long-running TV show at a time when TV was king. He’s simply an apathetic, anti-tax jerk that still holds 1970s views on women and non-whites.
As for Boobert, she grew up in a shitty white trash Rockies town with no opportunities, and if people weren’t dirt poor, they were next to it. I’m pretty certain that kids who weren’t on welfare belittled those who were on the regular. This played its part of Lauren looking for acceptance which only got her knocked up at 15. She’s been shaking her ass for survival to any guy with a couple of bucks to pay her way since then. What she did at CPAC is what she does all the time.
