Why did no one tell me that THIS was the New Mexico state flag from 1912-1925 holy shit this flag is a disaster I need twenty of them
it was the UNOFFICIAL flag and wasn’t ever used for official purposes. it was created to be displayed at one of the world fairs as a placeholder flag because we didn’t have one
Relax, I’m aware! I read! I still like flags that citizens make for their state? Even if it wasn’t government-sanctioned, it’s still fun. Some one made that flag to represent the state and a lot of people seemed to agree with that for a long time, with or without it being THE flag:)
Regardless what it was used for, it sounds like in use for 13 goddamn years. People seriously looked at that flag and went “yeah that’s probably fine for now” for over a decade
