A sword-damaged Austrian dragoon/cuirassier’s helmet worn by James Ritter von Baertling, an Irish-born colonel of the Karl Prinz von Preussen Kuirassierregiment. James’ helmet here was sabered during a cavalry melee in the Battle of Konigratz, 3 July, 1866. He died in 1895. [2160×3840]
