It’s been a snowy❄️ eve in the #DC area and we were drawn to this pop of color🌈, courtesy of Michel Eugène Chevreul. Chevreul spent 25 years designing one of the first color systems to include brightness and chroma, or saturation. This plate shows 72 hues at maximum chroma.
From Des couleurs et de leurs applications aux arts industriels à l’aide des cercles chromatiques, or Colors and their application to Industrial Arts Using Chromatic Circles (1864). It’s from our @cooperhewitt Library.
