U.S. Representative-elect Cori Bush (D-MO) wore a mask with the name Breonna Taylor across the front during her orientation on Capitol Hill. Bush, a prominent Black Lives Matters activist and the first Black woman elected to Congress from Missouri, told a reporter, ‘I am Breonna Taylor as far as I could be a Black woman murdered in my bed tonight … It just saddens that people in leadership, people that want to be in leadership, don’t know the struggles that are happening to Black people in this country. And it’s disheartening.’
