The police state that right-wingers are always handwringing over whenever there’s talk of universal healthcare is already here, yet curiously you don’t see those Don’t Tread On Me™ types getting outraged over this very real display of fascism. The American state has always done things like this with BIPOC and dissidents; it’s just that now it’s receiving more attention thanks to mass consciousness and the internet. “The free world” is a hollow title Western ruling classes adopt for themselves to hide their injustices and their steadfast allegiance to profits over people; when the foundations of their white supremacist capitalist leviathan are threatened, fascist repression is what they turn to.
