Which should give people pause and yet! I forget the author but their was an excellent post about how unintentionally toxic and dangerous meme culture can be in its capacity to decontextualize some awful stuff.

Poland is very quickly diving into some fascistic bullshit, with the Catholic Church egging them on, with LGBTQ people and Muslims the primary scapegoats. All of that is super connected to this prick priest burning these books, they couldn’t care less about JK Rowling being annoying and would probably like the fact that she’s transphobic.

cop-disliker69:

Well the guy who posted that comment is an actual Nazi,

kamukuraizurudotnut:

“Wish I was burning Harry Potter books with a polish priest” y’all are fucking terrifying supporting this because you think it’s a funnee meem and not about controlling what people see and read by making these books out to be so bad and sinful that they have to be exterminated :))))))

androgynousblackbox:

There are some kids that grow up without being able to engage with anything related to Harry Potter because their parents thought the books were satanic. When word got out that Dumbledore was gay they insisted so much more that it wasn’t appropiate for kids. Is that really the kind of shit you want to encourage.

baixueagain:

Imagine thinking book burning is okay just because it’s cool to hate Harry Potter again

friendlyalien:

“Haha, it’s funny because I don’t like it Harry Potter bad lol”

I hope people know that they aren’t burning HP because it’s bad literature or something, but because they believe it will make their children believe in magic or some smiliar stupid shit.

Don’t think for a second they wouldn’t do the same to LGBT fiction.

ace-pervert:

Its still book burning

kompanie-mutter:

wish I was burning Harry Potter books with a Polish priest

punished-juulpod:

Absolute king
