YULIN NAVAL BASE, HAINAN, CHINA (August 18, 2020) – A Communist Chinese

Type 093 (Shang-class) nuclear-powered attack submarine photographed by a commercial satellite….as it slips into the huge underground nuclear ballistic missile submarine base here on the edge of the South China Sea.

(Sounds like something out of a classic James Bond “007″ movie!)

Two tenders (tugboats, as such) are assisting the submarine as it navigates the narrow entrance to what is understood to be a very sophisticated underground facility supporting China’s growing nuclear-powered submarine fleet. Apparently, the underground facility can handle up to 20 nuclear-powered submarines.

The secretive base is located at the point in Chinese territory that is closest to the continental shelf….thus providing relatively easy, and stealthy, access for the submarines.

Communist Chinese Type 093 (Shang-class) nuclear-powered attack submarine. (China has six of this class of submarine in their fleet.)

(Rest assured Agent 007′s modern contemporaries are hot on this!)

>>Top two photos: Planet Labs (A commercial imaging company….one of whose satellites just happened to be in orbit over the precise right spot, with an uncommonly – for this area – clear-sky on the surface….to capture that rare glimpse of Chinese nuclear submarine activity at a highly-secretive nuclear and ballistic missile facility….that’s, essentially, a gigantic coastal cave….just like out of something-James Bond!)
