The 1953 BIC mobile on the Tour de France

In 1953, the coachbuilder Augereau made the first vehicle-shaped pen. Made entirely of sheet metal and Plexiglas, this Renault 2.5T is a pen whose cap was put to the back so as to expose the BIC tip and allowing the driver to see the road. On the sides two horizontal pens are real swords – it would be impossible to accept this today for security reasons.

Finally four pens are rife on each side of the main cabin and support the brand name. The lighting which is integrated in them makes the vehicle even more visible at night!
