Fucile di Fanteria, Modello 1870/87 Vetterli-Vitali

Manufactured by the kingdom of Italy, converted from the earlier 1870 Vetterli military rifle using Artillery Captain G. Vitali’s system.
10.4x47Rmm blackpowder cartridge, 4-rounds fixed-box magazine, bolt action.

These rifles look so neat and fancy. A lot of them would be further converted in 1915 for use with the new Carcano 6,5x52mm smokeless powder rounds, which would render them a bit inadequate in terms of durability.
