The Art Nouveau architectural style, inspired by natural forms and structures, specially those of plants and flowers, where it applied the new materials like iron and glass, surpassing the poor style of the earlier Cast-iron Architecture; it sought to break away from the Academic Style, yet another style based on those from the classical era. Popular between 1890 and 1910.
As an art style, Art Nouveu was a total style, in the sense that it encompassed not only architecture, but graphic art, interior design, fine arts, textiles, furniture items, household items and so on.
El Modernismo, también llamado Art Nouveau, un estilo arquitectónico inspirado en formas y estructuras naturales, especialmente las de las plantas y flores, que usó los nuevos materiales como el hierro y el vidrio, logrando así superar el pobre estilo de la Arquitectura del Hierro, donde buscó romper con el Estilo Académico, otro Historicismo mas basado en los estilos clásicos. Fue popular entre los años 1890 y 1910.
Como un estilo artístico, el Modernismo fue un arte total, , en el sentido que no solo abarcó la arquitectura, sino también el arte gráfico, diseño interior, las bellas artes, textiles, muebles y equipos hogareños, entre otros.
