The end of the line for catapult launched “Scout Float Planes.” While the higher performing, thus “better” design, it arrived late. With the earlier Vought “Kingfisher” was more attractive, and as a “war bird,” one could take friends for the flight. The introduction of helicopters made the whole idea obsolete.
