I was reading today that at one point in 1780 the Continental Army was so broke-ass it couldn’t even afford crossbelts and bayonet scabbards, so just ordered troops to just keep their bayonets fixed 24/7.
OK – so that French money ran out….but they held it together enough to kick ass & take names the next year…
