Reminder that forced forms of artificial patriotism, such as strictly enforced respect for a national anthem or flag, is a typical trait of totalitarian regimes, and a form of control.
The 1st amendment exists as the absolute first item in the constitution for a reason. That song wasn’t even used for over a century after the constitutional rights for these men to protest during its singing was written and signed.
Unsurprising coming from a bunch of war/common criminals
Imagine supporting government goon squads murdering athletes because they didn’t stand up for a song.
I sincerely worry about the cult of worship formed around the US anthem and flag. Has it occurred to these people that literally no other free country on earth has the same fanatical, aggressively enforced devotion to a symbol, and a piece of music? That only happens elsewhere under authoritarian dictatorships such as North Korea, China, or historically in Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union, among the least free countries the world has ever known. It’s worrying guys, please stop it.
