Just imagine. The army had not been to war since Napoleonic times, and yet they rode to meet an undefeatable foe in April 1940. They had no experience, and no idea how to properly utilise the cavalry in modern war. «Poor boys…» a woman said as they were riding down Karl Johan street. In the end, the cavalry was stopped at first sight by a bussload of Germans and disarmed without a single shot being fired.
